Karen Marie Salon’s Favorite Fall Wedding Trends:
The stylists at Karen Marie are always excited about a change in the season, because it means a whole new color and style palette to play with! Each stylist has taken some time to let us know their favorite looks trending this fall wedding season. Take a peek below:
My favorite bridal trend this year has been flower accessories. We saw them in spring and summer, but flower crowns can translate just as easily to a fall wedding look by switching up the colors in the flowers and leaves. It’s great for bohemian brides. I love the deep colors found in nature in the fall, and a crown using the golds, reds and deep greens of autumn would make the perfect bridal accessory to a soft curled hair style.
My favorite look this fall for wedding hair is half up, half down. It offers a kind of versatility that could suit a theme for a wedding event. The half up can be dressed to maintain an ornate quality that is traditional for weddings, while the fall of the hair showcases movement and texture that is very contemporary. It can translate to any style or theme quite easily.
My favorite classic wedding look for brides is probably the chignon. To me, there is elegance in simplicity, and a chignon is the perfect way to compliment a gown without stealing the show. For bridal party, I tend to style based on personality. To me, the best photos tell a story, so if a person can get a feel for personality in the photo simply by looking at how they are style, then I’ve done my job.
Fall brides have plenty to choose from: clean and sleek ponytails to strategically undone bohemian braids, and everything in between. I love seeing the mix of casual undone hair with beautiful ornamentation, especially sparkling gold or silver pieces.
I also love when brides take a classic style and give it a twist, especially throwback’s to old Hollywood Glamour. Kevin Murphy Screen Siren products and tools help to create the old Hollywood side swept waves seen all over the red carpet this year. Give it a personal twist with an accessory for interest. I really love the look created when you modernize a classic style: for example, taking a sleek bun with a retro headband or floral crown to add your personal spin.
I look forward to seeing more brides who want to incorporate a unique ornament to their hair. This gives any bridal hairstyle- whether classic or modern – a polished and one of a kind look for each individual bride.
This fall brides and celebrity styles are featuring a lot of loose curls and undone versions of old classic hair styles .I am still seeing a lot of texture and movement in the hair, which is a great way to keep a look feminine and soft. Low side swept chignons that are a little more tussled than the sleek versions we’ve seen in the past. Celebrities on the red carpet have been pairing these low lose buns to show off a sexy shoulder and statement pair of earrings.
Even the fall makeup trends that I am drawn to for brides are influenced by runway looks. Taking an avant garde cat eye down to a bridal style is one of my favorites. Another option is to have minimal or light eye color with a bold lip as your focal point. This works great with some of the deeper and cooler red tones of the autumn season. Runways are also showing sexy metallic eyes that can be toned down to a beautiful bridal makeup.
Thanks to all the stylists at Karen Marie Salon for sharing these trends! What are your own favorite wedding styles?
