Experiential Learning
Adults learn best by being actively engaged in their own learning. Experiential learning activities place participants on a level playing "field" through outdoor adventures, hands on building or theatrical role playing, to name a few.
Incorporating experiential learning activities into meetings is a powerful tool that can accomplish what many traditional seminars and presentations cannot. It can energize a group to "learn by doing" and most importantly create an atmosphere where participants share opinions and discuss topics that connect with the meetings objectives.
Consider this adage:
Tell me and I will forget
Show Me and I might remember
Involve me and I will understand
If you want people to understand, get them involved. Your audience will grasp your message better if they can experience it in some way.
