How Come?
Kids are famous for their HOW COME? questions. Remembering our childhood creativity should help us practice this quality. Just take a normal situation and ask "How Come?" questions until you move past the obvious into a realm of amazing and entertaining possibilities. Mr. Smith went to a school in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week, but he didn’t see any children there. HOW COME? Now see if you can write down 15 or 20 real or imagined answers for this query. Hint: Remember to look at the object from a variety of different perspectives! Just remember that quantity will lead to new perspectives which often lead to some very original possibilities. More HOW COME? questions to try: The Shorts were supposed to leave on their vacation this morning, but they’re still home. HOW COME? Mrs. Nightingale has tea every afternoon at four, but today she didn’t. HOW COME? Pat was on the highway, but the traffic was barely moving. HOW COME?
