Looking for a "Greener" way to wrap those Holiday gifts?
Try one of these & let your imagination get carried away! The wrapping may end up being as exciting as the gift it holds!
Try using everyday materials that can be re-used after the gift is open: Fabric shopping bags, t-shirts, dishtowels, scarves, interesting containers like tins and cigar boxes, baskets, lace bits and table toppers, saris - the list is endless.
Wrap gifts in art that will be kept: Poetry written on rice paper or craft paper, drawings and wishes that unfold in layers like origami. Personalized wrapping paper continues giving each time the recipient looks at it on their fridge or their desk.
Make wrapping paper from existing sources: From magazines and newspapers or from old posters and photographs.
Or how about starting a new Holiday wrapping tradition with the “circle of fabric wrapping?" There's an initial investment, but as everyone does it, you can just reuse and reuse and reuse.
Be creative, have fun and look for the beauty in everyday scrap materials. You'll end up with the delight of a surprise and a beautiful package...but without the waste.
