Fruit Grilling
Finally, it is time to pull the Weber from the crawl space, throw out the old
coals, and risk your life with the lighter fluid! It's time to grill!! But, DeeDee doesn't just grill hot dogs and steaks. I want you to try something funky- Fruit Grilling. Here are some tips below that can add the perfect end to a great grilling experience!
- Plan to grill fruits after you've prepared the main course. The lower heat from the cooler grill is perfect for cooking most fruits.
- Almost any fruit can be prepared on the grill and will require only light cooking to bring out the best flavor.
- Grilled pineapple is delicious. Cut a pineapple into square lengthwise and
remove the core. Cut the chunks and place on skewers. Brush with a blend of butter, rum and sugar.
- Baked apples can be grilled on a skewer or topped with butter, cinnamon and sugar and baked in a pan over hot coals.
- Even strawberries can be prepared on the grill. Thread a few on to bamboo
skewers that have been soaked in water. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with confectioner's sugar and grill.
- And all of these yummy grillings are better topped with ice cream!
