We’re eleven days away from projectMUSIC and all of us here at Catalyst Ranch could not be more excited! Out of all the events we host every year projectMUSIC is definitely one of our favorites. On August 24th, Spirit Family Reunion will come to the Ranch to play a special private performance to benefit the kids of LYDIA Home. If you don’t know about it already, LYDIA Home is a truly remarkable organization that provides housing and care for abused and neglected children in the Chicago area. The work that they do with these special children is nothing short of miraculous.

projectMUSIC is unique among philanthropic events. The goal of projectMUSIC is to raise enough money to send all 40 of the LYDIA Home kids to overnight camp during their summer vacation. This is the fifth year of projectMUSIC and every year it is an incredible event that is eclectic and energizing. projectMUSIC isn’t your average old fundraising benefit, it’s a celebration! And what’s even more amazing is that 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to the cause of sending these children to overnight camp. All of this has led to projectMUSIC being honored with the 2012 Innovation in Philanthropy award by Make it Better

Spirit Family Reunion

We’re thrilled to be joined this year by a very special band. Spirit Family Reunion first came together on New York City’s street corners and subway stations of New York City to make “homegrown American music to stomp, clap, shake and holler with.” Recently featured on NPR, they describe their music as “‘Open Door Gospel’ — gospel music that’s not tied to any particular religious denomination.” The first time I watched them play I was completely blown away by their unique sound and energy. There is a euphoric feeling between them when they play that is absolutely contagious. I think you will feel it too!

Check out Spirit Family Reunion in performance below:
